KAP Therapy is a cutting-edge mental health treatment that combines the rapid-acting properties of ketamine with the guidance of psychotherapy. KAP is especially effective for individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, and other conditions that haven’t fully responded to traditional therapy. By integrating ketamine’s unique effects with talk therapy, clients can gain new perspectives, process difficult emotions, and create lasting change.

How Does KAP Therapy Work at Heart and Mind Healing?

Assessment & Screening: We start with a comprehensive evaluation to ensure KAP is right for you.

  • Personalized Sessions: During each session, a low dose of ketamine is administered in a safe, welcoming environment. Your therapist will be present the entire time, guiding you through the experience.

  • Integration: After your KAP session, we’ll help you process insights, emotions, and develop actionable steps for daily life.

  • Phases of KAP Therapy at Heart and Mind Healing

KAP Therapy in Denver involves two key phases: standard talk therapy sessions and extended dosing sessions.

    1. Standard Talk Therapy Sessions

Our standard KAP sessions are 50 minutes (45 minutes of focused therapy plus a 5-minute transition). In these sessions, we discuss your experiences from recent dosing sessions and develop practical strategies to support your healing journey. These shorter sessions help you process insights and integrate them into daily life.

    2. KAP Dosing Sessions

Dosing sessions last approximately 2.5 hours. During the dosing phase, you’ll receive a ketamine lozenge, which you hold in your mouth for about 10 minutes. You’ll then enter an inward journey while typically wearing an eye mask and listening to calming, lyric-free music.

    • The first hour focuses on your internal experience.

    • Afterward, we spend about an hour together discussing your thoughts, feelings, and any insights that arise during the session.

    • The final 30 minutes allow you to relax with the eye mask and music, giving the medication time to wear off before you safely leave the office with a dedicated driver.

Our KAP therapy in Denver is designed for safety, comfort, and deep personal growth combining the benefits of ketamine with expert therapeutic support.

  • We are a private-pay practice, which ensures your complete privacy and allows us to focus entirely on your care without insurance limitations. You will receive a super bill every month which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement if they have a system in place for it.

  • Heart and Mind Healing provides KAP therapy to clients in Denver, Washington Park, Cap Hill, Greenwood Village, Central Park, Hilltop, Country Club, Southmoor Park, Highlands/LoHi, LoDo, RiNo, Hampden South, and surrounding areas.
