Rosemary Hernandez is a Colorado native where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in Spanish. She is fluent in Spanish. Rosemary graduated in August 2020 with a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regis University. In 2019, I began an internship as an in-home therapist working with Continuum Autism Spectrum Alliance running groups with children and working with families suffering from depression, anxiety, intellectual disabilities, autism and other related disorders. I help provide a safe and nurturing environment to increase growth and build our sense of self.
Rosemary is trauma informed and comes from a background of helping children who have experienced complex trauma in a residential treatment setting. She also has experience with in-home services for children and families by providing family-based, trauma-informed therapeutic services with various behavioral, emotional, and mental health needs. She is proficient in providing in the moment parent coaching and psychoeducation to help develop abilities over time to implement different interventions and strategies for caregivers. Rosemary’s passion is to help develop healthy patterns for children and families and support them to reach the best versions of themselves and trust the healing process. In her free time, she enjoys playing sports, going to the gym, reading, drawing, boardgames, listening to music, hiking and going to movies.
As a therapist, I have an integrative approach which allows me to use a variety of different strategies, interventions, models from multiple theories to best support my client’s treatment needs, wants and feelings. I believe in giving all my clients an opportunity to help me explore how they best learn and meet them where they are to increase their abilities to grow and strengthen challenges that have showed up and disturbed their wellbeing. I have also used techniques such as: cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, sand tray therapy, play therapy, talk based therapy and art in therapy that can be beneficial to my clients.
